Choose between 3 different itineraries:
1) The smuggler's route to Spain over the mountain passes (half day, 4 hours, 40,00 Euros per persons):Adventure for the entire family! After being picked up from in front of your holiday property in Arinsal in a 9-seater Land Rover, you will be driven up to into the mountains, past the picturesque village of "Pal" before starting on one of Andorra's most famous smuggler's routes to Spain. First stop: the "Col de la Botella" (2'069 meters) which offres magnificient views over Andorra. The journey then continues to "Port de Cabús" (2'300m) the unguarded border between Andorra and Spain. From there, you will follow the dirt track (see picture on the left) down to the tiny hamlet of "Tor" where, if you are lucky, the little café/restaurant will be open. The return journey and climb back up to the Port de Cabús is then made by following the dirt track on the other side of the valley.
2) Santa Magdalena and Os de Civis (full day, 8 hours, 70,00 Euros per person):For those that want to see a little bit more of the Pyrenees! The beginning of the day is similar to excursion number 1 (see above). However after passing the little hamlet of "Tor", you will continue down the valley to Tirvia before climbing up the mountain again on dirt roads to the church of Santa Magdalena before continuing on to the typical village of Os de Civis. This off-road circuit is very "off the beaten track " and one of the prettiest in the region. It's a long day but well worth it. Also, as the driver is not on a "timer", you can ask him to stop wherever you want in oder to take pictures etc.
3) The smugglers route + 2 hours of white water rafting (full day, 8 hours, 70,00 Euros per person): For those that want some extra adventure! The beginning of the day is similar to excursion number 1 (see above). After Tor, you will continue down the valley to the village of Llavorsí. From there, you will go rafting on the famous "Noguera" river where the 2011 kayak world championship was held. The return journey is made via Tor, Port de Cabus, Pal and Arinsal.

The village of Tor: they say that Catalonia is over 1000 years old and that Tor already existed then! Made up of 13 houses, of which only 7 are inhabited. It is the highest village in Catalonia (1'907m). The village is only inhabited during the summer months due to its remote location. There is a small restaurant in the hamlet. Menu: 15,00 Euros per person for lunch, 7,00 Euros for breakfast. You can, of course, bring your own pic-nic. |

The little church of Santa Magdalena, located somewhere between Llavorsi and Os de Civis in Spain in the middle of no where but in beutriful surroundinggs where it is common to see wild boar and deer. As it is the only landmark for miles around, many use it as a meeting point before continuing along different dirt tracks either towards Andorra, Sort or la Seu d'Urgell. |

Os de Civis is a well preserved village located in Spain at 1.500 metres above sea-level but only accessible from Andorra through the gorges of Os or via the smuggler's route from Spain. The view over the village from its XII century church is worth the short climb, the houses are well kept and the people are friendly. You can also enjoy free food and wine tasting in the little shops in the village. There are 3 restaurants and souvenir shops. |
